CMYK refers to Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black. These are the primary colors that are used in the printing press. The CMYK is a subtractive color system; it absorbs the colored light, which means the higher the value, the more you get close to black.
In the CMYK color code, the C, M, Y, K are Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black values, ranging from 0 to 100 percent. You can produce over 16,000 different color combinations.
The letter K is used to define the black and avoid confusion with blue in the RGB color system; in CMYK, the black is represented with K.
If you add, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow in equal proportion, you will still not get the pure black color because of the colors' impurities. Therefore, black is the key color that brings detail to the image, and it properly aligns the other three colors.
However, that color model is accepted worldwide. But that color system is used at a small scale, where the color accuracy is not a big issue. Mostly in the inject printers that are used in your houses and the offices.
HSV stands for Hue, Saturation, and Value, and that color model is the alternative representation of the RGB color model.
The RGB color model is quite challenging to get accurate red, green, and blue values to get the desired color. Therefore, the artists have developed a new way to define the colors. That is the HSV color model.
In the HSV model, H represents the Hue, which is the color portion that each color, from the six colors occupied in a color hexagon, and is defined from 0 to 360 degrees. The S stands for saturation, which is the ratio of the purity of the Hue. And it ranges from 0 to 100 percent. And V stands for value, which represents the brightness of the color. And it ranges from 0 to 100 percent (from black to white).
The HSV model's six significant colors are Red, Yellow, Green, Cyan, Blue, and Magenta consecutively, where each color occupies an angle of 60 degrees.
